  3. “Start…” Startup Screen is distributed as freeware.  The startup screen package consists of the startup screen itself and this documentation file.  If you enjoy this startup screen, please send me e-mail and let me know.

  5. OVERVIEW
  6. “Bad Things…” will startup your Macintosh with the positive message: "No matter how bad things may seem, just imagine how much worse they could be if you were running Windows®."

  9. None.  Zippo.  Zilch.  This one’s a freebie.

  11. INSTALLATION
  12. Under System 7, make sure the startup screen is named “StartupScreen”.  Move it to the System Folder.  (If you already have a startup screen installed, you may wish to rename it rather than replace it.  Something like “StartupScreen-original” works fine.  It also makes it easy for you to switch startup screens when you get bored with one.)  Restart your computer, and voila!
  13. If using a startup screen manager, please follow the manager's instructions.

  15. DISTRIBUTION
  16. This startup screen may be distributed to others via diskette, modem or online service, incorporation into shareware packages, etc. as long as the entire “Bad Things…” package is included in its entirety.  Contents of this package include the startup screen itself and this documentation file.  Shareware software providers, such as Educorp, may distribute this startup screen under the same conditions.  It would also be greatly appreciated if you would inform me that you are distributing it.

  19. This startup screen may be used as a startup screen only.  Use, modification, or incorporation of this image in any other manner is strictly prohibited without my written permission.

This startup screen has been tested on a PowerBook 180c running system 7.1, and on a Power Macintosh 7500/100 running system 7.5.2.  If you have problems using this startup screen on other machines or system software versions, please write or e-mail me at address listed at the end of this document.
